The goal of most cancer treatment is to stop the replication of cancer cells. While modern medicine does an amazing job at targeting primarily the cancer cells, it stands to reason that your body's health cells may also be impacted. Skin cells replicate so rapidly that your skin replaces itself approximately every 30 days. This is why side-effects of the skin are so common.
